"Exceptional work! I have recently had my property rewired by Gospage electrical, I don't normally add reviews but these guys deserve it. Consumer unit replacement

Known to most as a Fuse Box replacing a consumer unit is typically a fairly fast and common job.

With the many changes to the Wiring regulations since 2008 updating to a modern consumer unit is usually needed when making electrical changes elsewhere in a property.

Most commonly when installing new sockets and lights or when a new kitchen is installed.

There have been many updates to over the years to increase safety in the home most notably the addition of RCD's and the use of non combustible materials.

New Lights

Additional Lights either inside or outside of your property.

We most frequently replace single light fittings with recessed downlights in either kitchens, bathrooms and halls.

Outside lighting can be really useful for you main entrance, security lights of for decoration in your garden, decking or roof soffit.

New Sockets and Power

Many Properties have an insufficient number of sockets and dedicated power supplies to appliances.

This can be attributed to builders keeping costs down, changes in demand / number of devices used in the home and of course no one can truly predict how you will decide to use your home.

New sockets and power supplies can be added to any home*, there may be more options than you think, sockets with additional USB ports or convertor sockets can increase the amount of sockets you have with minimal work.

* The existing installation must meet current wiring regulations standards

Smoke Alarms

With changes in regulations many home now require wired smoke alarms when alterations are taking place.

Building control will require wired smoke alarms if you have:

  • Made changes to your kitchen location / layout
  • Created new spaces in your home e.g. extension or loft conversion.
  • Rented out the property.

It is always advised to meet current building regulations wherever possible. It's good practice to install smoke alarms when refurbishing a property.
